Bz was generally north to near-neutral before deflecting southward to ~7 nT and becoming variable between +/- 8 nT. Wind speeds averaged near 410 km/s before increasing to around 450 km/s, and eventually peaking near 525 km/s. The phi angle remained in a mostly negative orientation until just after 24/1700 UTC. These enhancements are likely attributed to a CIR ahead of the onset of a positive polarity CH HSS.
