Solar activity was very low. Region 2759 (N27W01, Axx/alpha) decayed to near plage over the past 24 hours. It produced multiple B-class events, the highest of which was a B4 flare at 04/0052 UTC. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available satellite imagery.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is currently above average, making retrograde effects moderately increased.
There are no planets in retrograde!
The Solar System at a Glance
Solar wind parameters, as measured by the DSCOVR spacecraft, reflected mostly nominal conditions. Solar wind speed fluctuated between ~415-460 km/s. Total magnetic field strength was at or below 5 nT. Phi angle was primarily oriented in a negative solar sector.
There is a 25% chance of solar activity, with a 10% chance of a minor event, a 1% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
