The other nine remaining sunspots were inactive and unremarkable. A CME was observed in LASCO C2/C3 imagery from a filament eruption centered near S45W73 at around 11/1648 UTC. Analysis is ongoing to determine if there is an Earth-directed component. .Forecast... Solar activity is expected to be low with a slight chance for M-class flare activity (R1-R2) on 12-14 Mar.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is currently above average, making retrograde effects moderately increased.
Solar wind conditions were weakly enhanced this period under sustained negative polarity CH HSS influences. Solar wind speed reached a peak of 474 km/s at 11/0830Z. Total field strength peaked at 6 nT. The maximum southward component of Bz reached -5 nT. Phi was predominately negative.
