Solar activity reached low levels as Region 3141 (N14E25, Eko/beta-gamma) remained stable during the past 24 hours, yet was responsible for a C1 flare at 08/1702 UTC. The remaining numbered regions were either stable or in decay. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
The solar kp index is unsettled, with retrograde effects slightly enhanced. The solar wind speed is currently normal.
Solar wind parameters reflected a return to near nominal levels. Total field strength steadily decreased to near 8 nT, the Bz component remained primarily negative, seeing a maximum southward deflection to -9 km/s, solar wind speeds remained relatively steady, averaging near 400 km/s for most of the period, and Phi was predominantly oriented in the positive sector with brief excursions to a more negative orientation.
There is a 50% chance of solar activity, with a 15% chance of a minor event, a 5% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
