Solar activity continued at low-levels due to a C2 flare at 02/0214 UTC and a C1 flare at 02/2102 UTC, both from Region 3135 (N26W00, Eso/beta). The rest of the numbered regions were stable or exhibited signs of decay, and were all mostly inactive. The new spots mentioned in the previous discussion were transient in nature, therefore remained unnumbered. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed during the period.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is high, making retrograde effects significantly increased!
The solar wind environment was slightly enhanced with renewed CH HSS influences. Total field strength increased from 5 nT to peak near 10 nT. The Bz component saw a maximum southward deviation to -9 nT. Wind speeds were mostly between 400-450 km/s through 02/1200 UTC, before increasing to peak near 540 km/s. Phi remained in a positive orientation, with occasional oscillations into a negative orientation.
There is a 35% chance of solar activity, with a 30% chance of a minor event, a 5% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
