Solar activity was very low. Region 2859 (N19E18, Hsx/alpha) continued its slow decay and was quiet. Region 2860 (S27E28, Dao/beta) developed penumbra in both its leading and trailing spots, but was mostly quiet only producing B-level enhancements in the background X-ray flux.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is currently above average, making retrograde effects moderately increased.
The solar wind environment underwent a slight enhancement early in the period. During an early, brief SSBC to the negative sector total field increased to 6-9 nT and the Bz component deflected southward up to -8 nT. Since that time total field has weakened to 4-5 nT and Bz has been -4 to 3 nT. Wind speeds, however, have been unremarkable ranging from ~355-400 km/s. Other than the aforementioned early activity phi has predominantly been in the positive solar sector.
There is a 35% chance of solar activity, with a 15% chance of a minor event, a 5% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
