Solar activity was low. A new region developed late this period and was numbered NOAA SWPC Region 2860 (S28E41, Bxo/beta), but was quiet. Region 2859 (N19E32, Hsx/alpha) exhibited decay while producing a few B-level enhancements and a C1.5 flare, the largest of the period. Furthermore, a B8.8 enhancement, observed at 24/1216 UTC, produced ejecta as observed in GOES-16 SUVI 304. Analysis is ongoing to determine ay Earth-directed component.
The solar kp index is unsettled, with retrograde effects slightly enhanced. The solar wind speed is currently above average, making retrograde effects moderately increased.
Solar wind parameters remained at a background state. Total field averaged between 4-6 nT, but peaked at 9 nT late in the period. The Bz component generally varied between +/-5 nT with a peak of +8 nT late. Wind speeds ranged from ~290-360 km/s. Phi began oscillating between solar sectors near 24/1157 UTC.
There is a 35% chance of solar activity, with a 15% chance of a minor event, a 5% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
